Hello! I’m Shabnam Bahrami

A UI/UX designer with a background in industrial design.

Curious by nature and grounded in research, I’ve always found design to be the place where clarity, empathy, and creativity come together.

My Design Mindset

I don’t just design visuals, I translate complex ideas into form. Whether it’s a poem or a scientific concept, I extract core themes to shape typography, layout, and motion with intention.

Human-centered & systems-driven

Design begins with understanding people, constraints, and the system behind the problem. My background in industrial design helps me see the bigger picture while designing at the detail level.

Iterative by default

Ideas are explored through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes, testing early and refining continuously based on feedback and user insights.

My Journey

I began my design journey in industrial design, working at the intersection of form, material, and function. Designing product packaging and brand experiences taught me how thoughtful design decisions can directly influence perception, usability, and recognition, both in physical and visual spaces.

As my interest in interaction and behavior grew, I transitioned into digital design, focusing on user Interface and interactive systems. This shift led me to pursue a master’s degree in Interaction and UX Design at the University of Kansas. Today, I design digital experiences grounded in research, accessibility, and iteration, bridging physical design thinking with human-centered UX principles.

Currently!

Exploring and building digital experiences with a strong focus on clarity, systems thinking, and interaction. Open to design roles and collaborations where ideas are shaped into thoughtful, usable products.
